The objective of this work is to support a retreat for the Groundfish Section of DFO Science, Pacific Region at the Quadra Centre for Coastal Dialogue, part of the Tula Foundation.
The Groundfish Section, Stock Assessment and Research (StAR) division within DFO Science (Pacific Region) has recently brought on a number of new staff, including a new Section Head. This, along with the on-going transition from working from home during the COVID-19 pandemic to a new hybrid-working arrangement (part-in-the-office, part-time at home) presents us with the need to revisit how we work as a team and what our priorities are. The previous Groundfish Strategic Plan ended in 2019. We plan to begin this work in a section-wide retreat hosted at the Quadra Centre for Coastal Dialogue, part of the Tula Foundation. The Quadra Centre for Coastal Dialogue, located on Quadra Island, offers meeting space for small groups of experts who wish to generate ideas that touch on the Tula Foundation’s core values through scientific, community and governmental collaboration.
